How to Use LocalNetPlus.com Web Based E-Mail
Easy to use E-Mail, Calendar, Address book, and other useful tools…
directly from Local Net Plus!
Go to www.localnetplus.com. Once there, click on the “Check Your E-Mail” button on the left side of your screen.
You will need to enter your username and password (which are the same as you use to get online) when the blue “World Client” screen appears.
Once you enter your username and password, slick “Sign On” and you will be taken to the main E-Mail page. This is where you can check your
E-Mail, write new messages, and change your settings to make it look and feel the way YOU like it.
To the left, you’ll see a few things that say, “Folders, Inbox, Drafts, Sent,” and “Trash”. Those are the different folders you can look at.
When you first start on this page, you’ll always be in your inbox. From here, you can access your address book where you can put friends and
family’s E-Mail addresses and store them. You can even access a handy calendar to keep track of appointments, and birthdays.
If you have any new E-Mail messages, they will automatically show right in the middle of this screen. Because when you log on, it will get your
messages for you, and show them with who they are from, and what the new E-Mail messages are about (or, the ‘subject’). If at anytime you are
unsure what any of the buttons or pictures do, you can simply hold your mouse pointer over the picture, and it will tell you what the current button
does.
Simply click on the message you would like to view, and will show it for you, when you are done reading it, you can go back and read other
messages if there are any, or delete it. To go back, click the “BACK” button on your browser. To delete the current message, click the button
labeled with an “X”. You will then return to the main window you were at before. If you are at the main window, and would like to delete any old
messages, click the box next to the message, and then delete them.
When you’re ready to create your own messages to send to somebody, click the button that says either “Compose”, or the button with a picture of a
pencil on it. A new window should appear. This is where you enter the email address of the person you are sending it to (or, the ‘recipient’). Your
E-Mail address will appear in the “From” box. This is so the ‘recipient’ will know who the E-Mail message came from. You don’t need to enter
anything into that area. Now, you can type whatever you’d like into the large white area. This is what the E-Mail message will consist of. When you
are finished, you can either click where it says “send”… or the button that has a picture of an envelope.
If you want to customize the appearance of your E-Mail settings, click at the top where it says “options”, or the button with a picture of a wrench.
Once there, you will see several options. “Personalize, Compose, Calendar,” and so forth. Each one allows you to customize a different part of your
E-Mail settings. “Personalize” allows you to change the look and feel of your screen. Choose several different ‘themes’ until you find one that looks
right to you. AND you are comfortable with. Each one is unique, and some are easier to use than others.
*The only settings you should not try to change, are the “MDaemon” Settings, and “ComAgent” Settings. We recommend only changing
these settings if you are an experienced user, and are aware of the risks.
In the settings, you can choose several things to change. Such as if you want it to save every message you send, or empty your trash folder when
you’re finished. You can create your own custom folders, to keep track of E-Mail messages from friends, co-workers, family, or however you want
to organize them. You can even set up filters, to keep out any E-Mails containing any potentially offending, or unwanted material. However, your E-
ail will work fine if you don’t change anything at all. As long as you don’t give out your E-Mail address to every website that asks for it, you shouldn’t
receive too much offensive material. But occasionally a few do slip through the cracks.
